Service Description

This family-friendly guided hike offers a perfect escape on Lamma Island, accessible only by foot. The journey begins with a ferry ride from Aberdeen’s fishermen’s quay and ends at Central pier. The easy, paved paths wind through peaceful landscapes, including near-abandoned villages, banana plantations, feng shui woods, and coastal areas. A moderate hillside climb rewards hikers with stunning views of the South China Sea, neighboring islands, and shipping lanes. The trail passes more of Lamma’s famous boulders before descending to Sok Kwu Wan village, known for its seafood restaurants. A visit to the 1826 Tin Hau temple is included. The half-day tours end here, while the full-day route continue past World War II tunnels, a small village, and a sandy beach, past A-Po’s TofuFa stall, ending in bustling Yung Shue Wan. The tour concludes with a ferry ride back to Hong Kong Island’s Central district. Highlights: The blend of nature, culture, history, and local life make this Lamma Island tour unique Did you know? “Hong Kong” is the anglicised version of the Cantonese “heung gong”, meaning “fragrant harbour”. When the British first arrived in the 1830’s, the logs of which incense sticks were made, were brought down from southern China to what is now Ap Lei Chau, and stored here, awaiting export, creating a pleasant smell. Hence the name “fragrant harbor”.
